NJ Fire and EMS Institute
Second Annual Dinner and Meeting A Success
A packed ballroom at the Marriott at Lafayette Yard enjoyed an exciting evening of networking with old friends and new as the NJ Fire and Emergency Medical Services Institute celebrated its 2009 Annual Dinner on May 18. The group heard keynote remarks by New Jersey Homeland Security Director and gubernatorial cabinet member Richard Cañas. Later, Senator Anthony Bucco was honored as the Institute’s Legislator of the Year. Assemblyman Fred Scalera, Chairman of the NJ Legislative Fire Services Caucus concluded the evening’s speaking program with exciting news about upcoming activities of the newest and largest caucus in the history of the NJ Legislature.
Our thanks to the Reverend John H. Maltby of the Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad for his inspirational words to open and close the event, and to the Hightstown Engine Co. No. 1 Color Guard for their participation. As always, we are extremely grateful to our corporate sponsors for their support, especially VFIS and Provident Benefits. Special thanks must go to the East Rutherford Fire Department for their extraordinary level of participation in this year’s dinner!
